If you’re in peri to post menopause and regardless of your age or fitness background strength training can lead to improvements in strength, balance and bone health. Each week, we’ll emphasize strength and resistance training, work on improving mobility and balance and explore exercises that support pelvic floor health. Let’s create a community of strong, empowered women, starting with strength training as our foundation. Together, we can support each other and, in the future, start meaningful conversations about managing the physical, mental, and emotional changes that come with the hormonal shifts during this phase of life.

Flex & flow

Tues and thursdays

If you’ve ever struggled to decide between doing a strength workout or a yoga session this class is for you! Flex & Flow is a dynamic and invigorating fusion of strength training and yoga flow intended to strengthen your body and cultivate a deeper mind-body connection.

The class will begin with some breathwork as well as warm-up and activation exercises intended to open your body and increase your mobility. The strength work will be performed with resistance bands, light dumbbells or bodyweight. Supersets of compound movements will get your heart rate up while strengthening and toning your muscles. Then, transition that muscle-building energy into a mindful and intentional slow flow yoga sequence with more breathwork to improve flexibility, balance, and mind-body connection. The yoga poses complement the strength work, creating a balanced and harmonious practice.

Throughout the class, emphasis will be placed on proper alignment, form, and breath control. Participants will be guided to move mindfully and with intention, cultivating a sense of presence and awareness. The class will conclude with traditional yoga poses to release tension and promote relaxation.

Flex & Flow is suitable for individuals of all fitness levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Practice self-care in a way that honors your need to get the most out of every workout.

uPPER BODY & ABS

Curls & Crunches is an upper body strength training class, focusing on stabilizing your core and strengthening your arms. It incorporates weight training and bodyweight exercises to build all of your upper body muscles.

thai yoga bodywork

Instructor: Tracy & Erin

Thai Yoga Bodywork is done on the floor on a cushioned mat. The client is fully clothed in loose, comfortable clothing. Practitioners use their hands, feet, elbows, knees and body weight to create rhythmic motion, acupressure and compression stretches to all the muscles of the body from head to toe. You can receive a session in the comfort of your home or at our Align location in Auburn.
